Meet Tyris

Tyris Rorie was born and raised in Monroe, NC. He attended North Carolina Central University where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. While attending NCCU, Tyris played football and was ranked in the top 100 defensive linemen in the country. Mr. Rorie later went on to play professional arena and indoor football, where he discovered his passion for wanting to give back to his community through his love of football.

Tyris began coaching at the local High Schools and Colleges, which gave him the platform to develop a sense of commitment and desire in his students to do better. He also ventured out to work as a District Director for Generation Uplift, mentoring at-risk youth.

Tyris is a qualified mental health professional and a school educator.

His passion for mentoring youth and helping them create possibilities in their lives inspired him to found Chosen Leadership Academy, a nonprofit organization. Services include mentoring, tutoring, and coaching athletics to build confidence and fuel purpose in life.
