Chosen Leadership Academy is committed to collaborating and working together with Trades Tech Inc and Good Portions LLC teaching the entire family workforce development in Mecklenburg and Gaston, Rowan, Union, Cabarrus county communities.

We are fueled by purpose to help youth explore explore and activate theirs. Through mentoring, tutoring and teaching teamwork, we guide youth to build internal strength and confidence that extends to external skills. Our mission is to support a lifetime of fulfillment, motivation and success for each young person.
Meet our Founder
Meet Our Founder
Tyris Rorie
Tyris Rorie was born and raised in Monroe, North Carolina, and has dedicated his career to serving, mentoring, educating, and empowering youth and families.
Tyris attended North Carolina Central University (NCCU), where he earned a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Physical Education while also competing as a student-athlete on the football team. During his collegiate career, he was recognized among the top 100 defensive linemen in the country. He later continued his football career professionally, playing arena and indoor football.
Through his experiences as an athlete, Tyris discovered that his greatest passion extended beyond the playing field—it was helping young people recognize their potential and develop the skills necessary to succeed in life.
Tyris began coaching at local high schools and colleges, where he developed a strong commitment to mentoring student-athletes and helping them build discipline, confidence, leadership, teamwork, and a desire to achieve more. His experiences in education and athletics allowed him to connect with young people both on and off the field.
He also served as a District Director with Generation Uplift, where he worked with at-risk youth and supported mentoring initiatives designed to encourage positive development and stronger futures.
In addition to his extensive experience in education, athletics, youth development, and mentoring, Tyris Rorie is a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) and a school educator. His diverse professional background provides him with a unique perspective on the academic, emotional, social, and physical needs of young people.
As the founder of Chosen Leadership Academy, Tyris brings together his passion for education, athletics, mentorship, mental wellness, and community service to create opportunities where young people can learn, grow, lead, and thrive.
His vision is simple: develop the whole child, empower families, and help every young person discover that they are Chosen to Lead.

1st Annual Youth Mentoring Football Camp
The camp was a success! We believe it’s important to expose youth to opportunities that exist beyond their immediate environment. This camp was held at Thomasboro Academy.
Our work is at its strongest when young people feel grounded in their identity, understand who they are, have a vision for where they are going, and a network of support to help them get there.
For some young people, models of healthy relationships and community are readily available. For other young people, healthy relationships may have been damaged or communities challenged.
Chosen Services recognizes the value and the power of something that seems so simple, but whose impact is so great; building relationship, building family, building community.

Sports are the main gateway to learning life skills for many youth. We teach values, discipline, and teamwork.
